Green Jobs Training Program
The Partnership for Automotive Career Education (PACE) prepares students for entry-level automotive technician jobs.
*New 45-hour unit on hybrid and alternative fuel vehicles*
Are you interested in working as an automotive mechanic? Apply to PACE. The cost is $6,686 but free for low-income or dislocated workers who qualify for funding. English, math, and writing tests are required for admission, as well as an interview.
- Classes take place 5 days a week, 20 hours per week.
- Monday – Fridays, 3PM – 7PM in Boston.
- PACE is looking for committed students who are serious about an automotive career.
- Students receive technical training in autoshop: safety, tire service, wheel balancing, maintenance service, electrical/electronic systems, brakes and suspension, hybrid safety.
- PACE also provides job placement help, English, math and computer instruction as well as workplace communication skills (teamwork, customer service), interviewing skills and resume preparation.
- Retention services and ASE prep clinics available for our graduates.
- This class is eligible for college credits at Mass Bay and Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology.
- PACE is a collaboration involving AACA, Sullivan Tire, Bridgestone Firestone, Herb Chambers Honda, Hogan Tire, Superior Auto Centers, Direct Tire and Auto, Boston Public Schools Department of Adult Education and Community Services and the Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology.
Requirements to be a student in this program:
- Commitment to attend training and find a job in the automotive industry.
- Have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- Must be eligible to work in the USA.

To apply: come to our information and testing session held every Tuesday at 2 PM or by appointment. The session takes 2 ½ hours.
