Building Energy Efficient Maintenance Skills
 

The BEEMS Program is a FREE 13-week program that trains participants for a career as a maintenance technician/engineer. This hand-on course teaches the fundamentals of carpentry, plumbing, painting, electricity, and job skills needed to succeed. This course includes a “green” curriculum on energy efficiency and weatherization. Classes are held at our Innovation Center in the early evenings twice a week. Starting salaries $20-28/hour.

What will I learn?

4 Month Training Program Includes:

  • Basic carpentry, plumbing, painting, electricity and building efficiency 

  • English and Math for the maintenance industry

  • 2 evenings a week in-person training

  • Job readiness

  • OSHA 10 certificate

Where will I work?

AACA employer partners include major hospitals, hotels, property management groups, schools, and many other sectors.

​BEEMS is a pre-apprenticeship program that also connects graduates with apprenticeship options with our employer partners.

How much does it cost?

BEEMS is free to low-income or dislocated workers who qualify for funding.

We provide two years of career support to help you move up the career ladder and help you reach your potential.

Requirements

  • The program is free for low-income or dislocated workers who qualify for funding

  • 18+ years old

  • Work authorization in the U.S.

  • Valid U.S. driver’s license (preferred)

  • CORI friendly

  • You must pursue a job in the maintenance field upon completing the program.

  • Pass intake assessment
